Great Downtown Ithaca Chili Cook-Off

The Great Downtown Ithaca Chili Cook-off features chili prepared by approximately 30 restaurants as they compete for the titles of Best Meat/Overall Chili, Best Vegetarian, and People’s Choice Chili. The Chili Cook-Off features a farmers market with vendors and local wineries, breweries, and farmer’s sampling their goods. All activities take place on the Commons and surrounding streets in the heart of Downtown Ithaca.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation Event

Be a hero for kids with cancer and help raise money this year! Join this St. Baldrick’s event, and whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we hope you’ll be a part of the excitement. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Get involved and you’ll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Come help us raise money and shave heads!

Meals on Wheels Mac N Cheese Bowl

Foodnet provides over 700 daily meals to 400 older adults and others in Tompkins County. Foodnet Meals on Wheels Mac and Cheese Bowl is a friendly competition for a good cause to determine who makes the best mac ‘n cheese in town. The Foodnet Meals on Wheels Mac and Cheese Bowl event proceeds will go towards furthering the Foodnet mission.

Ithaca Youth Bureau Team Sponsorship

The Ithaca Youth Bureau (IYB), a public multi-service agency established in 1948, provides a broad variety of recreation and youth development programs to promote the health, happiness, and well-being of all youth and families in the greater Ithaca area. IYB serves more than 7,500 youth annually, aged 0-20 years, through a wide array of programs including: academic support, after school programs, sports leagues, summer camps, and more. In addition to recreation and after school initiatives that serve the general youth population, our youth development programs do strategic outreach to economically disadvantaged and under-served youth. Kilpatrick’s is proud to be a IYB sports sponsor.

Ithaca Festival

The Ithaca Festival is a weekend music and arts celebration, the premier event of its kind in Tompkins County. Over 1,000 talented local musicians, painters, dancers, clowns, community groups, and ensembles perform throughout the Ithaca Festival weekend. Enjoy multiple stages of entertainment, some special kid’s activities, a craft show, a parade, a local film festival, an arts for social justice area, and delicious festival food at various locations.

Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry

Ensure that no kid goes hungry, whether in Ithaca or across the nation, by joining Upstate New York’s finest chefs, sommeliers and mixologists for Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry, a remarkable night of dining in support of No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in the America. Founded in 1990, Ithaca’s Taste of the Nation’s is rooted in the same concept behind the name “Share Our Strength” : poverty is a complex; feeding a child is not.

Come celebrate Ithaca’s hottest and most trend-forward food & beverage event! Guests will mix, mingle, and enjoy food and drink prepared by more than 75 local participating restaurants, wineries and microbreweries. Special culinary adventures include the annual Beer Garden, a Sundae Parlor, and more! Enjoy live music and dancing while making memories at the photo booth! Don’t forget about the silent auction and to try your luck at winning amazing raffle prizes!

The funds raised are not only be used to help the important work of our local beneficiaries: The Food Bank of the Southern TierIthaca Fresh Snack Program and Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Healthy Food for All, but they also find their way to areas of high need around New York State!  Important programs such as  the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Women, Infants and Children (WIC) will also receive funding through Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry grants program.

Bite of Ithaca

Bite of Ithaca is Tompkins County’s celebration of all things culinary! Locals and tourists alike enjoy the vast array of options to taste a “bite” of what the city of Ithaca has to offer.

Ithaca’s premier event of the Fall, Apple Harvest Festival is a three day celebration of food, fun, and apples!

Wizarding Weekend

Wizarding Weekend at Kilpatrick;s

Wizarding Weekend is a community and fan driven celebration of all things Magic. Kilpatrick’s Publick House participates in this magical weekend and transforms into The Basement, the official common room for Hufflepuff. We feature specials all weekend during this enchanted family fun weekend!

An Evening to Remember

An Evening to Remember was founded by Julie Crowley (owner of Triphammer Wines and Spirits and Ithaca Coffee Company) in 2006, when her mother Patricia Crowley was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. In 2012, the Gala broke its fundraising record by far, raising over $48,000. Of those proceeds, $40,000 was sent to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central New York, and $8,100 was sent to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department to implement Project Lifesaver in our community. In 2016, the gala broke it’s record once again raising over $65,000. Kilpatrick’s Publick House is honored to be a part of An Evening to Remember and such a worthwhile cause.

Ithaca Ice Festival Chowder Cook-Off

Ice Fest is an annual tradition in Downtown Ithaca!  Witness the nation’s finest ice carvers as they compete for $9,000 in prizes during 3 rounds of breathtaking competition in Downtown Ithaca. The festival features impressive display sculptures, fire demonstrations, the ever-popular Ice Bar: an outdoor bar made entirely of ice, serving Bacchus Beer, wine, and hot cocoa, and a tasty Chowder Cook-off.

The annual Chowder Cook-Off happens on the Commons and surrounding streets including Aurora, Cayuga and Dewitt Mall. Ice Festival goers can stay warm by sample over 20 different traditional, exotic, and gourmet chowders from local restaurants competing to be crowned our next Chowder Cup Champion! Restaurants will create a variety of chowders and guests will have the opportunity to taste their favorites in each category. Along your chowder tasting journey take note of your favorite chowders and vote for the following chowder categories: Best Meat Chowder, Best Vegetarian Chowder, Best Seafood Chowder, and Best Traditional Chowder. Popular past chowders have included: Smoked Haddock & Bacon Chowder, Vegan Lentil Black Bean Chowder, Meaty Butternet Squash Chowder, Lobster Bisque, Clam Chowder, Under the Sea Lobster Chowder, and more! Sampling tickets are for sale in advance and on the day-of downtown. Make sure to stop by for a sample of Kilpatrick’s delicious chowder!
